- Pre-wash and dry 100% cotton t-shirt, iron.
- Place a plastic covered board inside the garment and use masking
tape to ensure that the surface to be stencilled is flat and taut.
- Place stencil in position and fix firmly in place with masking tape.
- Follow the instructions for painting techniques, using Pure
Colour Dye Thickener. Mix the required number of colours.
- Dip a stencil brush in the thickened dye, then blot off excess on
kitchen paper until the brush is almost dry. Stipple the colour
through the stencil. This technique will ensure that the colour does
not "bleed" into the aras under the stencil.
- Use a clean, dry brush for each colour, or if you need to wash a
stencil brush to change the colour, ensure you dry it thoroughly
before using it again.
- Blend the areas of colour together at the edges to create additional
colours. Remove the stencil, leave the garment to dry overnight.
- Wash thoroughly in cold water, then at 30°C with detergent in a
washing machine.
